Crossroads Systems, a global provider of data archive solutions, today announced that FotoKem, one of the nation’s leading post-production companies for the entertainment business, is the latest Hollywood firm to deploy the StrongBox® archive solution.
A shared storage solution purpose-built for data archival and preservation, StrongBox harnesses the power of Linear Tape File System (LTFS) technology and intelligent storage architecture with standard file systems (CIFS/NFS) to empower online, all the time file availability. The archive solution provides uncompromised data protection, full data mobility, non-proprietary file storage, and dramatic cost-savings.
Strongbox was initially deployed by FotoKem in February throughout the company’s infrastructure, as well as installed at Keep Me Posted (KMP), a FotoKem company specializing in the finishing of episodic television, promos, commercials, and trailers. As a result, FotoKem and KMP now benefit from LTFS-based network-attached storage for the 10 to 20 terabytes of data running through their pipelines each day.

StrongBox provides a file based archive while simultaneously delivering scalable, reliable storage by using LTFS tape for cost-efficiency, as well as disk for rapid and seamless data access for file-based applications.
