Glowpoint, Inc. (GLOW) and StarLeaf Partner to Deliver Video Services at Affordable Rate

Leading provider of cloud-managed video services, Glowpoint announced yesterday that it is partnering with StarLeaf, a global manufacturer of interoperable video and voice solutions, to deliver turn-key cloud video services for desktops and rooms for as little as $99 per month. As part of the agreement, StarLeaf’s purpose-built video infrastructure will be tightly integrated into Glowpoint’s OpenVideo® cloud architecture.

Customers will be able to purchase the StarLeaf desktop and room systems through Glowpoint bundled with the cloud service, with the option of an All-Inclusive Service Price that includes the cost of the system as part of a monthly payment. Customers have complete access to the OpenVideo® community for secure, seamless B2B calling anytime. To date, there are over 450 companies directly connected to the OpenVideo® cloud, with over 45,000 certified endpoints. StarLeaf systems are fully interoperable with any H.323 based video system.

The partnership aims to make ‘high quality/low cost’ telepresence easily accessible and fully supported anywhere in the world, eliminating typical barriers to video deployment. By combining Glowpoint’s unrivaled reliability with StarLeaf’s portfolio of easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy endpoints, the companies are aiming to redefine how businesses access and benefit from video collaboration solutions.

“The industry has changed. Customers care less about protocols, frame rates and resolutions and care more about easy, high-quality solutions that can connect to anyone regardless of the technology,” stated Stephen Vobbe, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Glowpoint. “With StarLeaf, we are delivering high-quality telepresence that is easy to buy, deploy and use. When customers receive their StarLeaf system with Glowpoint’s cloud subscription they will be live within 5 minutes.”

“In our society, video is becoming a business imperative, yet all too often video equipment comes with walls that constrain use and simply make it difficult for businesses to realize a return,” added Mark Loney, StarLeaf CEO. “Our relationship with Glowpoint tears down the barriers to make video collaboration accessible for all and will go a long way towards making video deployment more pervasive.”
