Westell Technologies has announced it will acquire global intelligent site management solutions leader Kentrox. A definitive acquisition agreement has been signed, and the $30 million cash transaction is anticipated to close on April 1.
A leading provider of intelligent site management solutions with a wireless focus, significant software content, worldwide reach, outstanding customers, and solutions that are a complement to Westell’s, Kentrox is an ideal fit within Westell’s growth strategy. Additionally, Kentrox boasts an impressive team, superior capabilities, and good sales momentum. Westell anticipates that the acquisition will propel the company to around $80 million in annual revenue – also adding to earnings for fiscal 2014, which begins on April 1.
An innovator in comprehensive monitoring, management, and control of remote sites, including cell sites and towers, Kentrox offers solutions that allow network operators and service providers to reduce their costs while improving network performance and security. Included among Kentrox’s customers are major wireless and fixed-line telecommunications carriers, tower providers, cable and broadband network providers, utility companies, and enterprises. Kentrox’s revenues for the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 2012 were around $29 million.
