RF Micro Devices, Inc. (RFMD) Chosen to Support Fourth-Generation Flagship Smartphone for Leading Smartphone Manufacturer

RF Micro Devices, a leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance radio frequency solutions worldwide, announced that it will be supplying multiple 3G/4G LTE components into the new flagship fourth generation smartphone platform of a prominent smartphone manufacturer. The highly anticipated smartphones will feature a suite of RFMD products, including the new RF7388 multimode multi-band (MMMB) 3G/4G PA, multiple versions of RFMD’s RF73xx family of ultra-high efficiency LTE Pas, as well as RFMD’s industry-leading antenna control solutions.

RFMD’s highly integrated RF7388 PA covers bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 18, 19, 20, 26, 27, 33, 35, 37, and 39, and provides industry standard efficiency in a multimode multi-band package. It is mated with RFMD’s RF7307, RF7320, and RF7321 ultra-high efficiency satellite single-band 4G LTE Pas to supply additional coverage for LTE bands 7, 20, and 11/21, respectively.

In addition to increasing efficiency with the RF7388, RF7307, RF7320, and RF7321, RFMD will optimize and miniaturize the antenna function across this global smartphone platform with its RF1119 antenna control solution. This solution is fully compatible with the leading 4G LTE basebands and is intended to supply optimal RF performance in high data-rate, high band-count multimode environments. RFMD’s cutting-edge antenna control solutions allow for thinner handsets and extended network coverage with reduced dropped calls and increased data throughput rates.

RFMD’s RF7388 MMMB PA is compatible with the leading 4G LTE basebands and supports advanced power management functionality, enabling improved system-level efficiency in high data rate applications. RFMD offers a broad range of 3G/4G LTE solutions for single-mode, multimode, and converged architectures that cover all 3G, 4G LTE, and TD-LTE bands.
