Glu Mobile, Inc. announced that it has made available a number of its top freemium apps, previously available on mobiles hardware, such as iOS and Android devices, for Facebook’s App Center service. Users are able to log into Glu games using their Facebook information, invite Facebook friends to play, and bookmark games for sharing.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Glu Mobile is a developer of gaming applications for smartphones and tablet devices, and is focused on creating original gaming IP. Glu offers games on platforms such as Apple’s iOS and Mac OS X devices as well as Android, Windows Phone, and Google Chrome. The company maintains offices worldwide, with locations in Washington state, Canada, Brazil, China, and Russia.
Facebook’s App Center supports mobile apps that use Facebook, whether on iOS or Android, where users can find games on the App Center and send them to their mobile device. This is accomplished via the App Center sending the user’s device a prompt to download the game from either Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The Glu games available through the App Center are: Contract Killer, Gun Bros, Big Time Gangsta, Bug Village, and Stardom: The A-List.
Niccolo de Masi, Glu president and CEO of Glu, said, “The App Center is poised to become a powerful additional discovery channel for Glu games built natively for iOS and Android. Facebook’s Single Sign-on and mobile APIs will reduce friction to implement social features in all Glu titles. We look forward to benefiting from opportunities for viral discovery by connecting more deeply with Facebook’s global audience.”
