Extreme Networks announced that it is expanding its relationship with Tokyo Electron Device (TED) to provide Extreme’s enterprise customers with high performance network systems. TED, a technology distribution company, will continue to support Extreme’s products and services in Japan.
Headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, Extreme Networks is focused on Ethernet switching for cloud services, data centers, and mobile networks. The company boasts more than 6,000 customers in 50 countries, and is the developer of the BlackDiamond and Summit switching platforms.
TED has been a distributor of Extreme Network’s products for 14 years, while Extreme claims that their products have multiple benefits; such as the incorporation of 802.11n wireless tech from Motorola, the ability to address mobility with identity management with Intelligent Mobile Edge, and Extreme’s proprietary modular operating system, ExtremeXOS.
Vic Amano, Tokyo Electron Device VP & GM CN Business, said, “By working with Extreme Networks, we can offer our customers a full range of services and support in Japan, and can build a secured and converged network infrastructure. We have been an Extreme Networks distributor for 14 years, and during that time have developed a strong and successful relationship with Extreme Networks. We are excited to expand our relationship to include dedicated headcount focused on providing Extreme Networks leading products to our customers.”
David Ginsburg, CMO for Extreme Networks, added, “By working with Tokyo Electron Device, we can offer our customers cost-effective and high performance network solutions as they transition to mobility and cloud data centers. Tokyo Electron Device is a highly respected name with proven expertise in designing and delivering networks to fit a wide range of needs. We are excited about the new focus Tokyo Electron Device will bring to increase our product sales in Japan.”
