RF Industries recently announced that its subsidiary, Cables Unlimited (CU), has received $1.4 million dollars in orders for its newly designed OptiFlex™ Hybrid Custom Fiber Optic & DC Power Cabling solution. The cabling units will be shipped to a contract installer and major RRU manufacturer for a tier-one United States wireless carrier. CU expects to deliver the majority of the contract in the current fiscal year.

OptiFlex™ Hybrid Cable solutions are highly flexible, pre-terminated cables comprised of multiple fiber optic and power cables in a single jacket. The custom designed light cable reduces tower loads and is the perfect solution for 4G, WiMAX, and 4G LTE tower upgrades and installations up to and exceeding 550 feet, twice the length of competing products. CU touts the solution’s low minimum order and fast turnaround as a cost-competitive transition for OEM’s, contract installers, and carriers looking to quickly and easily upgrade their products.
