AirTouch Communications, Inc. (ATCH) Inks Distribution Agreement with TeleDynamics for U.S. Distribution of SmartLinX™

AirTouch Communications, a supplier of innovative wireless telecommunications devices, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with TeleDynamics, a wholesale supplier of telecommunications products, in which TeleDynamics will distribute AirTouch’s SmartLinX™ product throughout retail outlets in the United States.

TeleDynamics has placed an initial order of 2,000 SmartLinX devices, which AirTouch expects to ship later this month.

The SmartLinX system enables smartphones users to place calls over their landlines via home or office Wi-Fi networks. AirTouch said this technology offers improved voice quality, convenience of using the user’s existing contact list on the smartphone, and the cost savings of fewer cell plan minutes at the home or office.

Today’s announced agreement with TeleDynamics tails AirTouch’s recently announced agreement with Telefonos de Mexico (Telmex), the largest landline carrier in Mexico, in which AirTouch was named as an approved vendor for Telmex for the SmartLinX product.

“Our relationship with TeleDynamics has the potential to introduce the SmartLinX to millions of new potential customers in the United States,” AirTouch CEO Hide Kanakubo stated in the press release. “We believe that, like Telmex customers in Mexico, American consumers will see the advantages of using their Smartphone over a landline, and will shift from using their cordless landline phone to simply using our product as a bridge between their cell phone and landline.”
