Award-winning
software company Smith Micro Software announced that its Productivity and
Graphics group’s flagship Poser 3-D animation software has been used to create
the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s (NORAD) Santa Tracker 2013 Web
site. Santa Tracker enables families to follow Santa Claus on his Christmas Eve
sleigh ride around the world. Poser was utilized in the creation of the 3-D
Santa character on NORAD Tracks Santa as well as his reindeer and sleigh.
The
NORAD Tracks Santa Web site is now live at www.noradsanta.org. Last holiday
season, this Web site received around 22 million unique visitors in more than
200 countries. Smith Micro’s premier partner, Meshbox Design, a supplier to
Content Paradise and a corporate contributor to the NORAD Tracks Santa project,
is the creator of Toon Santa, which is the original Santa for Poser. Toon
Santa, Toon Reindeer, and Santa’s Sleigh are each used on the NORAD Tracks
Santa site as well as its official gear site, I Tracked Santa. Each of these
three models is also available on Content Paradise. Toon Santa 2013 includes
eight versions of Toon Santa, and the current release features a master chef
Santa that comes with props like Christmas cakes, pizza trays, and utensils and
that poses doing things like chopping with a knife, stirring a pot, tasting,
and more.
Through
Poser, users are not only able to purchase their favorite themed Toon Santa
content but they can also create their own original holiday characters. Poser
allows users of all skill levels to create full 3-D scenes with digital humans,
animals, and props. Poser offers both an extensive library of preloaded
characters and content as well as advanced features like Subdivision Surfaces
for improved bending fidelity and Bullet Physics for adding improved realism to
animation. Utilizing various tutorial videos and an experienced content
creation, development and support service team, Poser users can begin creating
original holiday content to share with their family and friends right away.
