ForceField
Energy announced today it has been awarded yet another contract for its
energy-efficient LED lighting by an international buyer in Costa Rica. The
contract is with the Comptroller General’s Office of the Republic of Costa Rica
for supply and installation of twenty-five 100W SL3 LED lights in the
government agency’s parking area. It was awarded through a competitive bidding
process.
ForceField
Energy’s SL3 lights are CSA-certified, and they have also received
certification from the Laboratory of Efficiency of Costa Rica, a division of
the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).
ForceField
Energy also reported it is partnering with the University of Costa Rica for a
study of the health benefits of LED lighting on university faculty and
employees, as well on attending student academic performance. Project efforts
for this have commenced, and include collaboration with and support from the
Costa Rica Institute of Technology. Specifically, the study consists of
ForceField Energy installing LED tubes and panels as replacements of existing
fluorescent tubes in three of the campus’ academic buildings.
The
University of Costa Rica is investigating methods of greater energy efficiency,
and LED lighting has emerged as an attractive solution. Reports indicate
ForceField Energy’s collaboration could lead to further installation of its
products across the university’s campus.
Notably,
ForceField Energy has attained over $40 million in letters of intent for supply
and/or installation of its products in Costa Rica alone.
Richard
St-Julien, ForceField Energy’s Chairman commented, “Both agreements demonstrate
the competitive strengths of our products and our ability to provide the level
of service and speed of execution required by premier clients. The Comptroller
General of the Republic of Costa Rica and the University of Costa Rica are both
highly regarded and respected for their focus on the quality of the products
and services they procure and entities they choose as partners. We believe this
further validates the excellence of our organization. Having already made
significant inroads in Central America with more than $40 million dollars in
letters of intent outstanding in Costa Rica alone, we remain confident that
these new relationships will further accelerate our penetration into the
region.”
Mr.
Alberto Murillo Herrera, UCR’s Vice Dean commented, “In addition to reduced
energy consumption and improved operating efficiency from LED lighting, we
believe that there are inherent health and well-being benefits that are
extremely valuable and merit further exploration within our academic setting. We
chose ForceField Energy due to the strength of its products and its willingness
to work closely with us on this campus-based study and its ability to further
implement an efficient LED retrofit across the University.”
