Cerus
announced the recruitment of Kenneth Trader to the position of vice president
of sales, North America, and Scott Buker to the role of senior director, North
American, market development. Both are set to join the company in January of
2014. Trader will be responsible for sales operations in North America,
including the preparation for anticipated product launches as well as
establishing and building the sales team responsible for product adoption.
Buker is set to be responsible for key launch activities as well as the
management of national accounts in North America.
Kenneth
Trader brings with him twenty-five years of leadership expertise in sales and
marketing management. Most recently he served as vice president, sales and
payer relations at US Bioservices, a division of the AmerisourceBergen
Specialty Group. Prior to this position, Trader sat as vice president,
corporate business development at AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group. In
addition, he previously acted in the roles of vice president of sales and
marketing, hemophilia health services at Accredo Health Group, as well as
director of national sales at Baxter BioScience, a division of Baxter
Healthcare Corporation. Trader has had success in a number of biologic product
launches and in the building out of commercial organizations. Additionally,
Trader has sat on the National Hemophilia Foundation’s board of directors since
2010, and currently holds the role of vice chair.

Also
joining Cerus, Scott Buker brings with him over thirty years of sales and
marketing experience in the blood testing and processing arena. Most recently
he served as executive director, strategic accounts, for Biomedical Services at
the American Red Cross. Prior to this position, Buker served as senior
director, corporate accounts, and director, national accounts, also held at the
Red Cross. Prior to joining the American Red Cross, he held leadership roles in
sales and marketing at Whatman plc, Johnson & Johnson, E.I. DuPont de
Nemours, and Abbott Laboratories.

brings a wealth of experience to our North American sales leadership team,”
commented Greenman. “His extensive understanding of the U.S. blood banking
industry and his past successes in establishing and managing national hospital
accounts will be key to our launch planning and execution efforts.”
