ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. (CCIH) and Hutchison Partner to Provide Content Delivery Network Services in Asia

ChinaCache International is the leading total solutions provider of internet content and application delivery services in mainland China. The company today announced that it and the international arm of Hutchison Global Communications Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a symbiotic collaboration to explore Asian markets for the provision of Content Delivery Network (CDN) services together. Hutchison is the fixed-line operation of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings. CDN is an internet-based content and applications distribution network which seeks to enhance user experience by accelerating and stabilizing web page views, file downloading, online transactions, video streaming, and instant messaging, among others.

Under the agreement, ChinaCache will establish CDN and cloud nodes at Hutchison’s data centers with facilities, including hardware, software, and cabinets provided by Hutchison. The two firms intend to work closely together and support each other in developing the markets of mainland China, Hong Kong, and other regions of southeast Asia to bring high-quality services and enhanced user experience to customers in those markets.

It’s a partnership which makes sense. Hutchison has an extensive global footprint and a strong presence in Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and the Americas. ChinaCache brings to the table its CDN services which should enhance Hutchison’s service portfolio and its capabilities to access mainland China’s internet content in terms of volume, speed, and readiness.
