Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NVTL) and NexTraq Ink Supply Agreement for Fleet Management System

Novatel Wireless, provider of intelligent wireless networking solutions, today announced it has signed a supply agreement with NexTraq, provider of GPS fleet tracking and vehicle management solutions, in which Novatel Wireless will supply its MT 3000 device for NexTraq’s GPS fleet tracking solution.

The Novatel Wireless MT 3000 is designed to improve productivity while reducing costs for fleet customers. The MT 3000 differs from wired telematics devices in that it is a plug-and-play device with internal antennas, which eliminates vehicle installation costs and associated vehicle out-of-service time.

The MT 3000 features include GPS location, ignition, geo-fencing, trip reporting and events, and is capable of capturing variables such as excessive engine speed, rapid acceleration, harsh braking, speed violations, and excessive idling.

“We are constantly looking for ways to lower the barrier for adopting GPS fleet management solutions,” Mike Scarbrough, CEO of NexTraq stated in the press release. “Partnering with Novatel Wireless to supply simple-to-install devices allows us to offer a solution with greatly reduced installation costs thereby making it available and affordable to a much wider audience.”

NexTraq’s platform is a cloud-based application that enables service and distribution businesses to optimize fleet operations while reducing operational costs and maximizing revenue.
