Zillow, Inc. (Z) Announces Rental App for Android OS

Yesterday, Zillow announced the launch of their new app for Android OS, the Zillow Rentals for Android App. This is the company’s first dedicated rentals app, and 10th mobile app on the iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone, and Android OS platforms.

Based in Seattle, WA, Zillow is focused on creating websites and apps that provide real estate information, including information about real estate listings, homes, and mortgages. The company operates Zillow.com, Zillow Mortgage Marketplace, Zillow Mobile, Postlets, and Diverse Solutions. In March of this year, Zillow boasts 32 million unique visitors to their various websites and apps.

The Zillow rentals for Android App will allow users to perform a number of actions, such as compare selected homes side-by-side, use their device’s touchscreen to draw boundaries and search within those boundaries, select properties based on how new they are to the market, and search with Android’s voice capabilities. In addition, notifications without login and signup are available, as well as the ability to contact landlords by phone or email in-app.

Renters shop differently from buyers and look at many homes quickly, in specific locations, in a short amount of time,” said Jeremy Wacksman, vice president of consumer marketing and mobile at Zillow. “The Zillow Rentals for Android App was created specifically to address their needs by organizing listings in an easily-accessible way and allowing them to shop for the right home on location, in the neighborhood where they want to live.”
