Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (KTOS) Brings on Industry Veteran Marion Van Fosson to Lead CVG-Avtec

Today, leading national security solutions provider Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced that Marion Van Fosson has joined the company as the new leader of its CVG-Avtec subsidiary. Van Fosson has a proven history of successful executive leadership, and his notable career has included serving as an executive in the satellite industry and as an officer in the U.S. Army. The company anticipates that his leadership will help CVG-Avtec reach its next level of growth.

As CVG-Avtec’s vice president and general manager, Van Fosson will oversee all management aspects of the company’s operations. CVG-Avtec, based in Virginia, is a provider of fixed and tactically deployable solutions that support both the uplink and downlink sides of satellite communications. The company’s products include a wide range of tactical baseband terminals, antennas, satellite modems, telemetry equipment, and components like BUCs and SSPAs; its services include bandwidth provisioning, installation and network operations support, and customized engineering solutions.

Prior to joining Kratos, Van Fosson served as vice president and general manager of EMS Defense & Space. Before that role, he served as vice president and general manager of the military vehicle systems business unit of BAE systems and as president of Litton Electro-Optical Systems prior to that. Van Fosson additionally gave 22 years of service to the United States Army and retired as a colonel. Over the course of his military career, he served as program manager for future combat systems for the U.S. Army and the Defense Advanced Research Program Agency.

Van Fosson has a Master of Science degree in physics from Carnegie Mellon University and served as a researcher and faculty member in the physics department at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
