Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (IDN) Announces New Patent

Yesterday, Intellicheck Mobilisa announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 8,139,869 relating to a document comparison system. The issuance of this patent removes limitations on a previously issued patent, and brings the company’s current portfolio of U.S. patents up to 10.

Intellicheck is focused on developing and marketing identity security systems for wireless technology as well as other applications, including handheld access control and security systems for the government, military, and commercial markets. The company’s flagship product, the Fugitive Finder system, is used in approximately 100 military and federal locations. The system scans and verifies data encoded in magnetic strips and barcodes on government-issued identification badges.

The new patent covers a new method of identifying, comparing, and verifying information on two separate documents, such as comparing the personal information on a boarding pass versus the information on a passport. The issuance of the new patent removes the limitations of an earlier patent issued to Intellicheck.

Steve Williams, CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa, said, “This latest patent issuance not only strengthens our patent portfolio, it reinforces our position as a leader in the ID reading technology market.”
