MiMedx Group announced it has entered into a distribution agreement with global medical technology leader Medtronic and its wholly owned subsidiary SpinalGraft Technologies LLC (SGT). Through this agreement, MiMedx will supply Medtronic with its PURION processed allograft products to be marketed for spinal applications by SGT.
The PURION processed allograft products distributed to Medtronic will be private-labeled, and SGT will promote, market, and sell these private-labeled allografts throughout the United States to its customers and end-users.
The agreement represents a significant milestone for MiMedx in expanding its customer base and increasing the number of physicians and patients who have access to PURION processed allografts. The partnership with Medtronic will allow many additional physicians and patients to be served through that company’s broad distribution arm and presence in the spinal surgery market.
Medtronic’s $3.1 billion spine business segment is developing many of the new standards of care in spinal and musculoskeletal therapies. Collaborating with world-renowned surgeons, researchers, and innovative partners, Medtronic offers a wide range of cutting-edge products and technologies that treat various musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, and spinal conditions, helping patients return to normal, active lives more quickly.
MiMedx is an integrated developer, manufacturer, and marketer of patent-protected regenerative biomaterial products and bioimplants processed from human amniotic membrane, which is derived from donated placentas that would otherwise be discarded as medical waste.
