ForceField Energy Inc. (FNRG) Tapping Two Major Energy Efficiency Markets

With the cost of energy continually rising, and the increasing pressure for energy efficiency to reduce negative environmental effects, it’s striking that so much energy is still wasted, harming the environment but with no productive use. One of the greatest sources of energy inefficiency is in waste heat, a natural byproduct of energy conversion, but something that can be significantly reduced with the right technologies.

It is now estimated that more than 50% of industrial energy generated is lost to waste heat. Typical fossil fuel power plants and automobiles are some of the worst offenders. Today, a growing amount of energy is also required for data processing, in spite of processing efficiencies. The proliferation of large data centers represents a new waste heat source. Instead of capturing some of that heat for useful purposes, it is typically attacked with air conditioning, adding to the energy use. But industrial centers remain the major target for waste heat capture.

One of the big problems with capturing waste industrial heat is that it often involves heat lost at high temperatures, exceeding 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Traditional waste heat recovery systems are simply not capable of efficiently dealing with such high temperatures. However, New York based Forcefield Energy offers a technology specifically designed for high temperature operation.

Using a technology from California company TransPacific Energy, of which ForceField Energy is a 51% owner, their system allows the capture of waste heat at ranges all the way up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a one-of-a-kind technology that offers an exclusive opening to a potential multi-billion dollar market. In addition, ForceField Energy is also the exclusive distributor in the Americas for a major worldwide LED producer, opening the door to another massive energy efficiency market.
