Mitel Networks Corp. (MITL) Offers Cloud-Based Communications to Systems Integrators with the OpenIP Team Up
Mitel, a leading provider of cloud and on-premise unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions, announced an agreement with the France-based service provider OpenIP. The agreement allows Mitel’s cloud based UCC software platform to be integrated into OpenIP’s cloud-based offering for system integrators and resellers in France.
Based on Mitel’s cloud telephony offering, OpenIP intends to introduce a suite of new monthly subscription business communication services. The new offering, Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), will include four subscription options, enabling businesses to select the type of communications and collaboration tools best suited to meet the individual needs. Options include basic offerings like telephone and voice mail, to advanced offerings like teleworking, softphone, audio and video collaboration, unified messaging, and fixed-mobile convergence. Mitel’s cloud offering is compatible with OpenIP’s fixed and mobile call offerings. The partnership between the organizations will allow OpenIP’s parallel cloud infrastructure and VMware’s virtualization layer to guarantee high availability of the applications and the ability to support an unlimited number of users. OpenIP recently completed its SIP trunking certification with Mitel and achieved designation as a Mitel Managed Service Provider, capable of delivering an end-to-end, cloud-based UCaaS offer.
“Together with OpenIP, we are able to offer our customers new and innovative cloud-based Unified Communications services,” says Lionel Hovsepian, vice president of Sales for Mitel in France. “Our advanced technology is augmented by OpenIP’s full compatibility with our cloud-based solutions, bringing businesses real added value on a functional, operational and financial level. Mitel’s UCaaS solutions, coupled with OpenIP’s Cloud and SIP offers, offer considerable development opportunities for our current and future integrators.”
“This agreement with Mitel enables us to implement an exclusive and highly efficient program that will provide Mitel partners an attractive and simplified opportunity to transition to a cloud-based subscription service delivery model,” said Laurent Silvestri, president of OpenIP. “By moving service delivery from a CapEx structure to a monthly recurring subscription model, integrators will be able to take advantage of the increased flexibility and speed in service delivery enjoyed by service providers.”
Mitel is a global provider of unified communications and collaboration (UCC) software, solutions, and services that enable organizations to conduct business anywhere, over any medium with the device of their choice. The proprietary product is a single cloud-ready software stream, and Mitel’s Freedom architecture provides customers in over 100 countries the flexibility and simplicity needed to support today’s dynamic work environment.
