Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (CIDM) Announces Several New Business Opportunities

Cinedigm Digital Cinema, the global leader in digital cinema, continues its success as expansion initiatives are underway with several new business opportunities. Cinedigm is currently the leader in providing the services, experience, technology, and content critical to transforming movie theaters into digital and networked entertainment centers. The company made a name for itself within the industry by operating as a technology and services integrator that works with Hollywood movie studios, independent movie distributors, and exhibitors to bring movies in digital cinema format to audiences across the country, providing them a complete suite of services required to enable the digital theater conversion.

Cinedigm recently announced that Goodrich Quality Theatres will be incorporating Cinedigm Software to further integrate and streamline its circuit-wide movie operations. Beginning in 2011, Goodrich has so far converted a total 274 screens at 30 different theatres to digital, using Cinedigm as their integrator. Goodrich has been using Cinedigm’s LMS, Theatre Command Center (TCC), as the operational hub within the theatre to manage and coordinate the scheduling and playout of all digital content, including features, advertisements, and movie trailers. The company confirmed that Goodrich will deploy Cinedigm’s Exhibitor Management System (EMS) and Enterprise at Goodrich’s head office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Goodrich will see an immediate benefit from the increased operational efficiencies created by digital cinema.

“Our exhibitor software platform is designed to empower partners like Goodrich who have fully embraced the power of digital cinema, and now together, we can truly optimize circuit operations,” said Adam Mizel, COO of Cinedigm. “Cinedigm is very excited to expand our technology relationship with Bob and their team.”

In August, Cinedigm announced its long-term VPF deployment agreement with Celebrity Theatres. The agreement will enable the conversion of theatres to digital cinema under the terms of Cinedigm’s long-term agreements with all the major studios, as well as ongoing interim agreements with over one hundred independent distributors. With expected completion set for the Fall, Celebrity Theatres will deploy 30 Cinedigm-Certified™ screens, putting Cinedigm over the 11,000th screen deployment mark.

“We applaud Cinedigm’s achievement in eclipsing the 11,000th screen deployment and our ongoing joint initiative toward digital cinema conversion,” said Jim Reisteter, General Manager of Digital Cinema Projectors at NEC Display Solutions. “More and more theater patrons are experiencing the benefits of digital cinema as a result of this initiative.”

Cinedigm also recently partnered with ARC Entertainment for the distributor’s highly anticipated Nitro Circus The Movie 3D, which opened in theatres nationwide on Wednesday, August 8th. ARC utilized Cinedigm’s expertise to supplement the theatrical release of the film.
