Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc. (GOLF) Opens Cutting-Edge Store in Chattanooga

Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc., the largest specialty golf retailer in the country, is set to open an experiential golf store in Chattanooga in time for the coming golf season. The company’s latest store, boasting 15,750 square feet, will provide golfers with an unparalleled golf retail experience. In addition to perusing the company’s full selection of golf equipment and apparel, shoppers will be able to try out golf equipment inside one of the facility’s indoor, high-tech hitting simulators or on the outdoor putting green.

In the past 10 years, almost half of the nation’s golf retail stores have closed, according to information from the National Golf Foundation. In light of this financial hardship throughout the industry, Golfsmith’s expansion is singular. The company will serve customers in 89 coast-to-coast locations by the end of 2012.

Golfsmith’s newest location is located at 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd. in Chattanooga, Tenn. The company’s 80th store to date, the Chattanooga location will host its grand opening on March 9 and 10.

In addition to its vast assortment of golf equipment, the new store will offer the latest in custom-fitting technology – aiding Golfsmith’s certified fitting specialists as they identify the proper clubs for customers’ individual abilities. A recent study found that the majority of American golfers play with clubs that do not properly fit them, and Golfsmith’s services and custom-fit products aim to remedy that widespread issue.
