Dehaier Medical Systems, Inc. (DHRM) Inks Cooperation Agreement with WideMed

Dehaier Medical Systems is involved in the development, assembly, marketing, and sales of medical products including respiratory and oxygen homecare medical products. The company assembles its own branded medical devices from third-party components. It also distributes products designed and manufactured by other firms across the globe.

The company announced today that it has entered into a strategic agreement with WideMed Ltd. to become that company’s exclusive partner in China to market the Morpheus Ox System, a cost-effective, portable home sleep diagnostic and monitoring solution that can diagnose sleep disorders using a standard oximeter recording plethysmograph signal. WideMed is an Israeli company engaged in the research, development and sale of innovative products for the growing bio-medical signal diagnostics and treatment market.

The cooperation between the two companies will involve developing a new type watch-size device, which is designed to be integrated into the existing Morpheus Ox platform. By collecting and recording the physiological data from patients who wear the device at home, the advanced automatic sleep scoring software will be able to generate an accurate and reliable sleep study diagnosis. The system has received FDA certification.

China, because of its vast population, is potentially a huge market for sleep disorder diagnosis. But to date, the lack of a reliable product in the field has led to a slow acceptance by both Chinese consumers and the Chinese medical profession. Dehaier is hoping that the introduction of the Morpheus Ox to the Chinese marketplace will open up great opportunities for the company.
