Xplore Technologies Corp. (XPLR) Lands Multi-Million Dollar Purchase Order for Ruggedized Tablet PCs
Xplore Technologies, developers of the world’s most ruggedly designed tablet PCs, known throughout sectors like military and oil/gas production for their award-winning computing platforms that are engineered from the ground up to withstand the most difficult and challenging environments possible, reported a multi-million dollar purchase order today from the U.S. military.
Picking XPLR was a no-brainer really, as the kind of hardcore environments faced by soldiers are often way beyond the capacity of other tablet PCs. The kind of harsh weather and extreme temperatures that must be coped with to get the mission completed successfully make it downright impossible for most anything short of XPLR’s extremely durable tablets, and the company has honed its strategy quite well for attracting military dollars.
With the most power in its class to ensure a long up-time, the ability to easily tolerate extreme shock from being dropped (proven to pass a 7’ drop test while running), and even the capacity to survive being fully submerged for 30 minutes, all without compromising functionality of the full Windows platform and gorgeous sunlight-readable screen, XPLR’s iX104C5 family of tablets merge unbeatable performance and high ROI. XPLR is no slouch by the way; they cut their teeth back in 2002 with the world’s first truly rugged PC and have shipped over 100k units since.
Chairman and CEO of XPLR, Philip Sassower, was overjoyed to report that this is the largest single military order in the entire history of Xplore and went on to extol company’s products as being the perfect fit for military field applications. Not only is this a clear endorsement of the company’s design by a premium end market, but an obvious indication that XPLR has gained significant momentum in the sector as a whole, something which will lead to an even stronger ongoing relationship with the U.S. military.
Sassower affirmed that it goes above and beyond serving the shareholders with something like this, conveying just how proud everyone at XPLR is to help support the U.S. military with mission-critical hardware. Sassower stressed the exceptional value of the product from a cost effectiveness standpoint and characterized the design as perfectly nailing the military “device of choice” parameters. He isn’t wrong either, these tablets are robust but cheap, delivering everything you need from a hardware performance standpoint, ruggedized to the point where you aren’t worried about breaking it when the lead starts flying and everything goes pear shaped.
President and COO at XPLR, Mark Holleran, asseverated wholeheartedly, even remarking that the company sees this deal as simply the first of many more orders to come as XPLR digs in, increasing their overall footprint in the military sector. Holleran cited clear indicators in addition to today’s news that show how XPLR is rapidly accruing favor in military applications, spurred on by the product’s ability to satisfy customers who are looking to invest in the ultimate in ruggedized, long-life hardware without breaking the bank to do so.
The iX104C5M series really is the perfect sort of device for field ops, whether we are talking on the ground special operations or managing workflows on the flight line, the kind of real-time connectivity space created by the proliferation of such devices is helping to transform the face of the military, resulting in improved efficacy and therefore safety. Pumping out situational data in real-time to distributed field unit personnel who don’t have to worry about breaking the tablets, that is a recipe for operational excellence and the U.S. military is clearly taking note.
