ForceField Energy recently
acquired exclusive North American rights to distribute high performance light
emitting diode (LED) lighting fixtures used in a wide array of applications.
All of the company’s products are manufactured by the respected Shanghai Lightsky
Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. located in Pujiang Town, Minhang district,
Shanghai, China.
The LED light is considered
“green” because of the absence of dangerous chemicals and minerals in the
product combined with significant reduction in energy consumption by as much as
80% of traditional lighting products. Plus, LEDs offer less heat as compared to
incandescent bulbs or other conventional light sources.
Industry advances in the
performance of LEDs have made these lighting applications attainable
commercially. Lumens per watt from an LED have increased to over 140 lumens
today from only 55 lumens per watt just a few years ago making LED lighting a
viable and economically attractive alternative to conventional lighting
options. LED fixtures are comprised of LED diodes which are combined with
circuitry, housings and controllers to create the end product, the “LED
fixture.”
As noted by Forcefield,
efficiency ratings of LED fixtures are only partially determined by the LED
diode. The ultimate efficiency is determined by the way it is configured and
engineered within the fixture. This is looked upon as a unique strength and
differentiator in the industry, and what makes Lightsky’s products proprietary.
Lightsky holds several
design and utility patents and certificates including ISO9001, CE and Rohs. The
use of higher quality diodes along with proprietary circuitry, electronics and
quality assembly means that Lightsky’s LEDs can achieve a 60,000-hour rated
life. Lightsky is a supplier to large commercial and institutional users with
product portfolios ranging from illumination LED lighting to LED video display
systems and architectural LED lighting. Its products can be found in major
projects including Shanghai International Airport, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo
and Hong Kong University.
ForceField Energy intends to
leverage its relationship with Lightsky to capitalize on a huge market
opportunity that currently, from the company’s perspective, has no major
player. FRNG plans to offer an array of commercial LED products for warehouses,
canopies, parking garages, exterior building facades, and parking lots, along
with office space and retail chain replacements for fluorescent fixtures.
