InterCloud Systems, Inc., a global single-source provider of value-added services for both corporate enterprises and telecommunications service providers, formally announced today the appointment of Chief Operations Officer, Roger Ponder.
InterCloud CEO Mark E. Munro commented, “Roger’s career includes over 30 years of experience in telecommunications and technology. He has a diverse executive background in sales and operations and a proven ability to manage the integration of multiple operating segments. Roger is tasked with overseeing all integration efforts within InterCloud. We look forward to Roger’s leadership and insights as we continue to grow and expand our business.”
Prior to his appointment at InterCloud Systems, Roger Ponder served as President and CEO of Time Warner Cable Kansas City Midwest Division from 2005 to 2009 where he drove a multi-state division to increased profitability and operational efficiency. Utilizing his people-oriented management style and ability to address integration and performance issues, Mr. Ponder brought about dramatic improvement in operational metrics, customer retention and satisfaction, placing the Kansas City division among the Top 5 in key operational metrics within all of Time Warner. Mr. Ponder served as Vice President/General Manager of Commercial Operations and Business Development at Oceanic Time Warner Cable in Hawaii from 1996 to 2004. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ponder held a number of key senior management positions with Sprint Corporation, United/Sprint Management Company and Time Warner Telecom.
Mr. Ponder has also been an active member in a number of industry and community leadership positions, acting as Chairman of the Missouri Cable and Telecommunications Association and as past Chairman of the Kansas Cable and Telecommunications Association. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Greater Kansas City United Way.
