Steven M. Besbeck Joins MeetMe, Inc. (MEET) Board of Directors

Social discovery market leader MeetMe, Inc. announced that Mr. Steven M. Besbeck has been appointed to its Board of Directors. In addition to serving as a Director, Mr. Besbeck will chair the company’s Audit Committee. Mr. Besbeck’s appointment makes him the ninth member of MeetMe’s Board.

John Abbott, MeetMe’s Chairman of the Board and CEO, remarked, “We are pleased to have Steven join the MeetMe, Inc. Board of Directors. Steven’s extensive public company experience, both as a CEO and at the Director level, coupled with his expertise in corporate governance will be valuable to our growth as a public company.”

Mr. Besbeck is currently a Managing Director with Diamond Capital Advisors, LLC, a middle-market investment bank. His experience includes serving as the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Aspyra (OTCBB: APYI) from 1983-2007. Prior to founding Aspyra, Mr. Besbeck was the President and CEO of American Cytogenetics where he directed 11 acquisitions and sold the company as a successful market player in 1983.

Mr. Besbeck is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and he has been a speaker on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and corporate governance.
