Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (KTOS) Subsidiary Receives $13.2 Million Contract from U.S. Strategic Command
Leading national security solutions provider Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced that its SAT Corporation subsidiary has received a contract from the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) to supply worldwide radio frequency (RF) interference geolocation services. If all options are exercised, the award is valued at $13.2 million.
According to the terms of the contract, SAT will provide U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) with its QoS RF Monitoring and Interference Detection and Geolocation Services for monitoring and geolocating commercial satellite interference. Responsible for planning, coordinating, integrating, synchronizing, and directing activities to operate and defend the Department of Defense information networks, USCYBERCOM is a sub-unified command that is subordinate to USSTRATCOM.
Worldwide geolocation capabilities are an essential piece for USSTRATCOM and USCYBERCOM defense missions, including enhanced protection of critical leased commercial SATCOM assets. SAT Services provides these capabilities in a services-based model that is cost-effective, and the company is pleased that USSTRATCOM and USCYBERCOM have elected to continue relying upon the advanced technical capabilities of its global network.
USCYBERCOM’s Global SATCOM Support Center (GSSC), which is located at Peterson AFB in Colorado, will be provided with actionable information through SAT Services’ global network of eight commercial Interference Detection and Geolocation sites. SAT’s global network employs its industry-leading commercial products, which include Monics for interference monitoring, satID for geolocation, and Tri-band (C-, X- and Ku-band) antennas to speedily and accurately identify, characterize, and geolocate sources of unintentional or deliberate interference that is affecting leased commercial communication satellites.
