LoJack (Nasdaq: LOJN) Recruits Former Chicago Police Sergeant to Law Enforcement Liaison Team

Leading provider of advanced fleet management solutions and vehicle theft recovery, LoJack Corporation announced today that Chicago Police veteran; Sergeant Philip Cappitelli will join LoJack ‘s Law Enforcement Liaison team. With over 30 years of relevant experience, Cappitelli will oversee all professional training and the providing of equipment. He will also sit as an advisor to law enforcement agencies within Illinois that currently implement LoJack’s tracking technology to fight auto theft.

“We pride ourselves with bringing together some of the most seasoned and talented law enforcement professionals from around the country, and Philip’s knowledge and impressive track record are a great complement to our Law Enforcement team,” stated Patrick Clancy, Vice President of Law Enforcement at LoJack. “His extensive experience in fraud and theft investigations, as well as his relationships with industry organizations like the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators, will be valuable assets to LoJack and Illinois law enforcement agencies.”

Beginning his career in 1981, Cappitelli got his start as a Patrol Officer for the Chicago Police Department; eventually he was promoted to the Detective Division. In 2007, he became Supervising Sergeant of the Financial Crimes department. In addition he oversaw the Auto Theft unit. Most recently, Cappitelli oversaw the newly formed Chicago Major Auto Theft Investigations Unit.

LoJack currently has a strong team of Law Enforcement Liaisons. “It is an honor and a privilege to join LoJack’s team of seasoned Law Enforcement Liaisons,” commented Cappitelli. “Working with LoJack allows me to support police departments across the state of Illinois in stolen vehicle recovery.” Each former officer recruited has more than 20 years of expertise, most of which is in auto theft investigation.
