Commtouch (Nasdaq: CTCH) Appoints Lior Kohavi as CEO

On June 4, Commtouch announced that the company has named Lior Kohavi as Commtouch’s new CEO. Kohavi will lead the company’s efforts in its development and delivery of new and existing services as well as its cloud-based infrastructure. He will also be overseeing Commtouch’s security analysis and detection technologies development. The company announced that Kohavi will be based in their Israel offices.

Commtouch is focused on supplying cloud-based services and Internet security tech to vendors and service providers. Commtouch maintains six global data centers, which it estimates provides security to more than 350 million end users, and protects billions of Internet transactions daily.

Kohavi, with an MBA from Tel Aviv University and a degree in computer science from Bar-Ilan University, has more than 20 years of experience as a senior technology executive. He has performed as a business strategy architect at Microsoft for the past eight years, and previously served as vice president of product management and strategy at Whale Communications. Kohavi has also led development of cryptographic security at Cylink and served as the head of the Israel Air Force’s Network and Operations Systems Department.
