In a recent interview with MoneyTV host Don Baillargeon, Singlepoint CEO Greg Lambrecht noted “everything’s going mobile, and there’s no bigger financial opportunity than mobile payments.” Recent insights from BI Intelligence demonstrate the impact of that changing trend in dollars and cents. According to the firm’s analysis, mobile payments will make up $1.5 trillion of all transactions in the United States by 2017. In 2012, the aggregate transactional value of all total mobile payments in the U.S. was $120 billion, and the firm projects it increasing to $223 billion by 2013’s year-end.
Further projections from BI Intelligence emphasize the industry’s rapid growth over the next few years in even greater depth. The firm gives further projections of total transactional values in the U.S. being $393 billion in 2014, and a whopping $691 billion in 2015. In other words, there is an expected 476% increase in these values from just 2012 to 2015 alone.
In that same interview, Mr. Lambrecht also noted one of the areas Singlepoint is targeting are mobile-based donation and fundraising campaigns for non-profit organizations and faith-based ministries. Just last year, there was $300 billion donated in the U.S. to these causes, a sizable market opportunity to encourage easy, fast fundraising and donation-gathering efforts through an easy-to-operate mobile platform. One industry report noted that donations given to non-profits from mobile websites increased 205% over 2012 alone.
Singlepoint offers value to these organizations and their money-raising efforts through its mobile-based donations and fundraising platform. Its simplicity in operation, along with its ability to instantly connect with prospective donors and encourage them to give to a cause with little to no pressure, constitute where its attractiveness lies.
A participating organization first chooses a simple keyword, which prospective donors then text to a number code to opt in for current information, news, or other content. Once the organization has built a database of opted-in subscribers, it can “mass text” a donation page link that SinglePoint provides to all of its participants. If they choose to open the link, subscribers are then led to a simple, user-friendly mobile donation page for giving efforts. The donors fill out the relevant information, and then donations are then deposited directly into the participating organization’s account from the donors’ phones. A text or email receipt is sent as payment confirmation thereafter.
To demonstrate Singlepoint’s efficacy in fund generation for the non-profit and faith-based ministry worlds, Mr. Lambrecht revealed that Moody Bible Institute, a well-known Christian institution of higher education, recently raised over $1 million in a short 24 hours in a recent fundraising campaign using Singlepoint’s mobile technology.
Singlepoint has already established itself as a leader in mobile marketing and commerce, implementing mobile marketing campaigns for previous well-known brands such as NBC, MTV, CBS, and other organizations. Mr. Lambrecht has hinted at a strong sales performance in Q3 2013, the results of which have an expected release on November 14, 2013, as a result of Singlepoint’s acquisition of Six Sigma, a promising payment gateway services company with a worldwide customer base.
