ForceField Energy Inc. (FNRG) Sees LED Technology as an Easy and Major Way to Reduce Carbon Emissions

One of the biggest developments in the science of lighting was the development of LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology. Although the basis of light-emitting diode technology has been around since the early years of the 20th century, it wasn’t practically applied until the 1960s, when scaled up production allowed costs to come down. First used as indicators, the technology has improved to the degree that LEDs are now used for a variety of general applications, replacing power-draining incandescent and other standard lighting. The light produced by a traditional 40-watt bulb can now be produced by a 6-watt LED, and the resulting carbon emissions caused by the power generation are correspondingly reduced.

ForceField Energy, a New York based clean energy technologies company, is an international manufacturer, seller, and distributor of energy products and technologies. As part of this, the company has acquired the exclusive North American rights to distribute high performance LED products manufactured by Shanghai Lightsky Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. located in Shanghai, China.

Lightsky is a leading LED manufacturer for large commercial and institutional users and supports a strong portfolio of LED products, including illumination LED lighting, LED video display systems, and architectural LED lighting. Lightsky also manufactures products for direct consumer use, and has deployed its products in major projects including the Shanghai International Airport, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Hong Kong University, and Shanghai Metro Station. Lightsky holds a number of design and utility patents as well as international certifications and qualifications. Lightsky’s high quality LED products incorporate high quality diodes combined with proprietary circuitry and electronics.

Roughly 15% of all U.S. electricity consumed is used for the purpose of lighting, either residential or commercial, which comes out to almost ½ trillion kilowatt-hours. LED technology now offers a way to significantly reduce this power drain, and positively affect overall carbon emissions.
