Navarre Corp. (NAVR) Officially Changes Name to Speed Commerce, Will Commence Trading Under New Symbol

Navarre Corp. announced it has changed its name to Speed Commerce, Inc., effective immediately. As of the start of trading on Thursday, Sept. 12, the company’s ticker symbol will change to “SPDC.”

The name change reflects the company’s evolution from being chiefly a distribution business to becoming an end-to-end e-commerce services and retail distribution platform. The company believes the name Speed Commerce better expresses its mission of rapidly growing clients’ businesses through the delivery of flexible solutions and highly responsive processes and services.

Around 10 months ago, Navarre acquired SpeedFC as a means of strengthening its platform and more meaningfully participating in the expanding e-commerce sector. The company’s e-commerce services business has since exceeded internal plans for both customer wins and cost synergies. The company now offers an innovative solution for retailers and manufacturers who are seeking a single-source, end-to-end solution for their front-end and back-end e-commerce services, and the company’s new name reflects its strategic plans to grow this business aggressively.

A vertically integrated, multichannel platform of e-commerce services and distribution solutions for retailers and manufacturers, the newly renamed Speed Commerce offers retail distribution programs, Web site development and hosting, customer care, e-commerce fulfillment and third-party logistics services. The company’s Web site can now be accessed at www.speedcommerce.com.
