Industry Veteran Melinda White Appointed Frontier Communications Corp. (FTR) Area President

Frontier Communications announced today the recruitment of Melinda White to Area President for Frontier’s West Region. Effective as of June 1, 2013, she will oversee all market aspects of consumer experience in the states of Idaho, Montana, California, Oregon, and Washington. White is currently based in Beaverton, Oregon, and reports to President and Chief Operating Officer, Dan McCarthy. She succeeds Denise Baumbach who recently retired after committing eight years to Frontier.

Announcing the appointment, President and COO of Frontier, Dan McCarthy stated, “I am pleased Melinda accepted this important role. She is customer focused, operationally astute, and committed to empowering employees and to local engagement.”

Most recently White led wireless, video, online, and new business strategies for Frontier’s operations in 27 states as Executive Vice President of Revenue Development. She expertly oversaw the development of strategic partnerships in which to bring new products and services to customers across both rural and suburban markets. In her new position, White will continue responsibilities for the company’s video content strategy.

Prior to that, White was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Marketing and New Business Operations. And going back further in her remarkable career, she was Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, responsible for wholesale and retail revenue, as well as product marketing and wireless operations. She first joined the company in 2005 as Vice President and General Manager of Electric Lightwave, Inc., a unit of the company that she managed and helped position for sale in 2006 to Integra Telecom.

Before joining Frontier Communications, White held the position of Executive Vice President, National Accounts/Business Development for Wink Communications. There she developed budget conscious end-to-end ecommerce systems. In addition she has also held senior leadership positions at Cox Communications and Cellular One.

White holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard Payne University in Texas and in addition earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was honored in July 2012, by the New York Chapter of the National Organization for Women as a “Woman of Power and Influence.”
