Cannabis-focused research and development company the Green
Organic Dutchman Holdings (TSX: TGOD) (OTCQX: TGODF) today provided a detailed
update regarding its Jamaican partner Epican Medicinals Ltd., a fully
integrated cannabis company with cultivation, extraction, manufacturing and
retail distribution licenses. TGODF acquire a 49.18% interest in Epican in June
2018 and has seen substantial progress toward expanding cultivation, opening additional
retail dispensaries, and creating a leadership position in Jamaica’s medical
cannabis market. Among other highlights from the update, the company reported
that it has accelerated productive capacity while building inventory in
preparation of its planned retail expansion. It has secured locations in
Montego Bay and Negril for the strategic second and third retail locations. The
Montego Bay retail location is complete and ready to open upon authorization
from the Cannabis Licensing Authority. Added locations, including Negril, are
planned for 2019 and 2020. “We have made incredible progress in Jamaica over
the past 8 months,” TGODF Director and CEO Brian Athaide stated in the news
release. “We plan to continue opening stores throughout the country, increasing
productive capacity, and expanding our leadership in Jamaica. As Trelawny comes
online in phases, we will accelerate production to meet growing demand within
Jamaica and export product through TGOD’s distribution channels in Mexico and
beyond.”
