There are many things you need
to look at, and possibly even a few you can afford to overlook, when
determining an investment option. One of the can’t-miss, must-know components of
a company is who is calling the shots and shifting the gears.
Consistently ranked by
Engineering News Record magazine as a Top 500 engineering firm, ENGlobal Corp.
(NASDAQ: ENG) is a Houston-based specialty engineering services firm that
specializes in automation solutions and select EPCM projects for the energy
industry and other target global markets.
Operating through two strategic
business segments – Automation and Engineering (EPCM), ENGlobal provides its
services to the energy and government sectors throughout the United States and
internationally. The company also operates a Subsea Controls and Integration
(SCI) group that provides advanced process automation design, engineering
service and equipment for the effective integration of communication protocols
between topsides production facilities and subsea devices.
The company recently released
its financial results for the 2014 fiscal year, demonstrating strong growth in
the competitive engineering and automation services industries throughout the
United States and abroad. In addition to an increase of 21.1% in annual
revenue, ENGlobal also reported net income of $6 million, an increase of more
than $8 million from the results of the previous year.
Impressive growth of that
caliber isn’t by chance; it’s done only by intentional and calculated efforts
that build corporate and shareholder value. As the company rounds the corner
toward its 30th anniversary, it’s worth taking a look at four key professionals
behind the scenes.
Since starting the company in
1985, ENGlobal founder William “Bill” Coskey has navigated the company through
various ebbs and flows of the broader energy industry to become an
award-winning engineering firm recognized for its outstanding safety leadership
and safety performance.
Coskey was named ENGlobal
president and chief executive officer in August 2012 and has served as chairman
of the board since June 2005. An honors graduate of Texas A&M University,
Coskey received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, has served on
the Texas A&M University Electrical Engineering Department Advisory Council
since 1999, and has served as chairman of the council since 2006.
Mike Harrison joined ENGlobal in
2009 as vice president of business development. Harrison has more than 25 years
of business development experience within the engineering and construction
industries, and as former chairman of the Annual Conference for the Rice
University Global Forum for Engineering & Construction, remains on the
organization’s board of directors. He was previously vice president of Business
Development for Commonwealth Engineering and Construction, LLC, and also
formerly worked for Jacobs Engineering in progressively higher levels of
business development responsibility in Houston and Baton Rouge. Harrison has a
Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University and
continuing technical education at the University of Oklahoma.
Spearheading ENGlobal’s
financial operations is Mark Hess, who has served as ENGlobal’s chief financial
officer since September 2012. He previously served as the company’s corporate
controller. Hess is a CPA, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
from the University of Houston and is an active member of Financial Executives
International (FEI).
Bruce Williams was appointed the
company’s chief operating officer in September 2013. Williams previously served
as senior vice president, Midwest/Southwest Operations of ENGlobal’s
Engineering and Construction segment. He joined ENGlobal in 2004 and has more
than 35 years of domestic and international experience in engineering and
project management. Williams has an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the
University of Northern Iowa, with post-graduate studies in environmental
management from the University of Houston and MBA studies at Incarnate Word
University.
More than 400 industry leaders
are on ENGlobal’s payroll, supporting the company’s qualified management team
as it leads the company toward a solid financial foundation and proven ability
to consistently grow company revenues and value.
